Evaluation of patellar tendon morphology in Turkish population: a cross-sectional study

Aim: This study aims to investigate the length, width and thickness of patellar tendon type length patella with MRI reveal normal values ​​of morphology specific Turkish population.
 Material Method: The was conducted 348 individuals (137 males, 211 females) who applied our hospital, had no anterior knee pathology, MRIs. proximal distal tendon, type, prepatellar infrapatellar fat pad signal characteristics Insall-Salvati ratio were evaluated on images these individuals.
 Results: Type I detected in 23.9%, II 57.2%, III 16.1%, IV 2.9% individuals. mean 41.26±4.36 mm, 47.36±6.70 28.86±3.49 23.53±2.69 3,62±1.47 5.21±1.1 mm. It determined that did not cause a statistical difference according age, but showed significance classification.
 Conclusion: While evaluating images, effect social differences measurements should be ignored; measurement known evaluate pathological measurements.
